Let the trekking begin!

We´ve just found an internet cafe with an SD card reader that works so have uploaded a few photos onto Kathryn´s last posting.

Today, we have walked up Cerro Otto, which stands above the town and has a revolving restaurant at the top. We weren´t sure if it was actually turning though as it did not appear to have moved the whole time that we were up there. It was a lovely walk up with more spectacular views of the town, lakes and surrounding mountains. We also met an Argentinian called Pablo, who was on holiday from Buenos Aires. We are meeting up with him again tomorrow morning for a trek from Catedral ski resort to Refugio Frey which is apparently a 4 hr trip each way - a bit of training for Torres del Paine where we have decided that we will do the famous "W trek" which takes in the three grandest sights of the national park and takes four days.

We´ll try to do another post on Thursday when we get to El Calefate and upload a few more photos. After that, we´ll likely be out of contact until we get to Santiago on Sunday the 18th.

Right, will have to head back to our apartment now as we need some dinner and some sleep before our 7am bus to Catedral.
